It’s almost over!

August 30th, 2011 § 2 Comments

We’re slowly coming out of hibernation after this near record 60+ day of 100 degree weather. Fortunately, we have a ton of news to announce very shortly. Currently, BFOC is hard at work laying out this year’s Cyclesomatic festival. Expect the month of October to be filled with events from bike to school weeks, block parties in the Cliff, bands, beer, history group rides, and more. Also, with the newly adopted bike plan, BFOC and its members have been hard at work preparing for new infrastructure projects, several of which will be unveiled before the end of the year! With that in mind, we wanted to repost StreetFilms “Complete Streets: It’s more than just bike lanes” video. Now that Dallas is in the middle of its Complete Streets planning initiative, several of the elements spotlighted in the video, from pedestrian plazas, cycle tracks, and more are set to be built throughout the city.

The Ride of Leisure

Oak Cliff Leisure Riders! Get on your bikes and meet at Southern Maid Donuts at 8:15 a.m. Sat (tomarz). We’ll roll around a bit, ring our bells, wave at strangers, and make a stop at the Sylvan | Thirty Market around 9 a.m. and chow on some breakfast tacos made by the awesome, award-winning chef, Lisa Martel. C’mon. C’mon. Easy peasy.
